It is a fact of life that many elderly people today may eventually require admittance into a nursing home or some other form of long term residential care. It is also true that a client’s capital and home can be used to pay for this care. Simply transferring ownership to children however, is not a guarantee that a house is protected from being used to pay for fees. We can provide advice and practical help in dealing with this sort of situation.
Given the longevity and frailty of many clients, this is an area of law in which we are becoming increasingly involved, whether in the context of Continuing and Welfare Powers of Attorney, Intervention Orders and Financial and Welfare Guardianship Orders.
