Mediation, Arbitration and ADR
We see our role being to resolve disputes for our clients, if possible without resorting to court action or other formal means. We have extensive experience in representing clients in arbitrations and several of our partners have acted as Arbiters in a range of cases including disputes arising from collisions, ship repairers negligence, damage and marine insurance.
We believe Mediation will pay an increasing role in dispute resolutions now and in the future. More and more clients are dissatisfied with the Court process and the potential delay and expense involved. We share these concerns and for many years we have promoted the principles of Mediation in our own practice. Our lawyers are required to consider all available means of dispute resolution as part of their advice to clients and their claims handling.
We advise clients in mediations and mediation / mediator training is part of our post-qualifying education programme and Keith MacRae has trained as a Mediator.
